Chi Nei Tsang is also known as internal organ chi massage. Taoist master Mantak Chia brought this practice to the West. It is part of Master Chia’s larger system of healing and spiritual practices called the Healing Tao. Practitioners use deep, soft, gentle touch in the abdominal area. They work with acupressure points around the navel that promote the flow of energy in the abdomen and improve blood and lymph circulation. Through a series of gentle rocking, stretching, and shaking movements they encourage the release of tight abdominal muscles and ligaments. Chi Nei Tsang can be used for relief from physical complaints and to maintain one’s health. It also works on a deeper emotional level. Like Rosen Method, Chi Nei Tsang can contact and release unconscious emotional experiences that are stored as muscle tension. It allows individuals to reconnect with parts of themselves that have been cut off from awareness. This can lead to profound and lasting emotional change.
